Meeting Peru again!

I arrived to the airport almost running from the airplane to the migrations and from there to the exit. I couldn’t wait to see m family again… I got to the hall and waited 20 minutes for my parents to find me (if I believe them as they said they arrived on time) and that was my welcome back to Peru.

In the car while going home, I couldn’t stop monopolizing the conversation and tell my parents everything I lived in 45 minutes … I arrived home and there my nona (grandma Dona) and the rest of family were running to give me a long-lasting (almost seems like forever) hugs.

Regardless the time difference, I opened my suitcases and showed the last annual report and the different publications of my team… I mean its different to explain them things in detail and the story behind each picture and article face to face, and of course for them understand and be able to ask question, since it seems my email updates didn’t give them the complete picture of what I was doing… I noticed when my dad said “ So... you were leading the AIESEC in the AIESEC International?” and my grandma almost breaking into tears when seeing her daughter in the magazines…

I was astonished to see our house-bar almost full with souvenirs from everywhere. It seems that during my absence, somehow my family became more aieseckers than when I was even part of AIESEC in Peru. They hosted almost every single trainee and the LC call them for different things. I mean what on earth was the MCP doing in my house for 2 months, sleeping in my room? Don’t get me wrong he is more than welcome but I don’t know how it happened.

Next thing to do was obviously recover my Peruvian network of friends, so I went with my little sister to Claro? (the mobile company was called TIM before, when did it happened?) I probably never will be back at that store especially because I fell in the middle of it when playing with my sister’s wheelchair.

My mum and I went to Ripley which was a trip to see how different the fashion is here and buy and perfume for my dad since I forgot his present in NL. (Yes, I told him I brought it from Europe)

I came to the University yesterday, and its so weird to be back again. I don’t feel as comfortable as before in there, especially since I know nobody, and I am discovering almost nothing new. I don’t want to be the annoying students who believe they know everything and always talked and talked, so I decided to draw in my notebook my favourites painting with a beach, sun and little fish jumping in it.

I feel a bit annoyed by some details of the country people not being treated with respect, people arriving late and transportation doing whatever they want… I feel almost like praying when get in those “Combis” I will get my driver license this week for sure!
But, despite of everything, I feel Happy to be here and I am trying to remain myself understanding but also contributing to improve my surrounding as much as possible.
I am happy to be a Peruvian with all that experience and I am enjoying re-learning my life here!

I miss my AI team, and I bring them back every time I tell a story… trying for them to feel what I felt, and I things it works!
